'A Whole New World' was originally recorded by Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle in the '90s.
As Guy Ritchie's live-action remake of 'Aladdin' nears cinemas, the promotional campaign is kicking into action.
Aside from all the trailers, a re-recording of the Disney classic 'A Whole New World' has been released. The song, originally released as a single with Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle in 1992, is the only Disney song to win Song of the Year at the Grammys.
Like the original movie, Mena Massoud and Naomi Scott - who play Aladdin and Jasmine, respectively - have also recorded their own version, like how Brad Kane and Lea Salonga did. So, how does it stack up against the one we all know and love?
For one thing, the music video features zero flying carpets and sees Zayn walking around New York's Central Park in the dark. Not only that, there's no clips from the movie either. What's the point in having a tie-in song if there's no clips? Don't these people remember the '90s?
Oh wait, they weren't born in the '90s. Well, never mind then. 'Aladdin' arrives in Irish cinemas on May 22nd.
