'Legally Blonde' and 'Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde' has undoubtedly inspired young women who wouldn't normally think of practicing law to try their hand at it.
That's not a conjecture, it's a fact. Not only that, Reese Witherspoon admitted in an interview with ITV some time ago that the films made her think about young women perceived her. "It acknowledged that women can be strong and interesting, but also love to get dressed and have their nails done. People talk to me about it almost every week of my life," said Witherspoon.
Therefore, it should come as no surprise to anyone that a third 'Legally Blonde' is now officially in the works according to trade bible Variety. They're reporting that Witherspoon is close to locking in a deal to return as Elle Woods, with screenwriters Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith and Karen McCullah - who wrote the first one - ready to begin work once a deal is closed.
There's no word yet on plot or if the likes of Luke Wilson, Jennifer Coolidge, or Selma Blair are returning - but one thing's for certain. There'll be pink. Lots and lots of pink. And scented paper.
