We're looking back at the hit Marvel sequel
Before, 'Captain Marvel', 'Ant-Man and the Wasp' was the last Marvel movie to hit cinemas and many consider it one of funniest recent installments the MCU has produced.
Story-wise, the film takes place a couple of years after 'Captain America: Civil War'. Scott Lang (Rudd) is under house arrest, focusing on his family rather than superhero duties. When an opportunity arises for Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and his daughter Hope (Evangeline Lilly), aka the Wasp, to rescue Hank's wife Janet (Michelle Pfieffer) from the quantum realm, they enlists Scott's help. Meanwhile, Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) pursues them.
Critics praised the movie for its levity and humour, and for Paul Rudd's lead performance. It was also a big box office success earning $622.7 million off a $162–195 million budget.
Before the superheroine-led 'Captain Marvel' (which hits cinemas on March 8th), 'Ant-Man and the Wasp' was the first MCU film to have a female character in the title. Most fans know this, but did you know all these bits of trivia about the hit sequel?
