I'm not convinced an electronic device, even one as clever as Kinect, is really the best way to get fit - can you imagine Paul O'Connell training with a computer game?. The marketeers behind the Wii and now Kinect would argue otherwise. Fitness Evolved has a range of exercises from gym classes, to fitness games and you can even count your calories and use a personal trainer. The kickboxing and yoga modes are good fun but an electronic device is hardly in keeping with the fundamentals of yoga.
Your Shape: Fitness Evolved takes a lot of inspiration from the Wii Fit Plus but it also manages to provide an experience like something ripped from episode of Star Trek. Maybe it's because the game renders a blue looking oddity over a wire frame grid? Cleverly enough, the game also uploads player stats to a website and there's an iOS app on the way. Like much of the Kinect releases this feels a bit like a tech demo after a while and the first few levels (sorry activities) are way too easy but it's still a good excuse to skip the gym and it can only get better...
