The premise of YouStar 2 is simple: watch yourself act in a famous Hollywood movie. The game play scenes from famous films like Rocky or Superman, superimposes you image over that of the original actor, asks players to act perform a scenes and scores their performance. There's just one problem. Kinect voice support hasn't been activated in Ireland yet and it's really disconcerting to have a game dock points off you for not speaking the lines correctly when you know the software's to blame.
What's here looks like it might have potential at a party although the film roster seems limited and I'm not convinced the title has much appeal beyond the initial novelty factor; watching a friend doing a poor impersonation of Robert DeNiro doesn't necessarily make a great game. Games also need to make sure their console has a hard drive if they want to watch their performances again. No doubt the obligatory DLC is on the way, perhaps they should fix the voice support first.
Rent or Buy: Avoid at least until voice support is activated
