Undoubtedly one of the biggest controversies in gaming this year has been Battlefront 2's lootboxes, which was enough to shake up EA's policy on microtransactions in the game itself and also caused a sharp drop in their overall stock price.
John Boyega, who's known for being a fan of gaming, starred in a number of commercials for Battlefront 2 - as well as appearing in The Last Jedi as Finn. When we spoke to him at the junket for The Last Jedi, we brought up the controversy surrounding loot boxes and what he made of it.
"I didn't know about any of it until I saw it on Twitter, and it's unfortunate that fans got treated like that," said Boyega, before following up that it was good that EA was prepared to listen to reaction and act on it. "To be honest, I'm financially stable and when I haven't been financially stable and I haven't been able to get those updates, I've always been the one to go, 'Whatever, I'll play something else...'."
