The tennis simulator genre is hardly an overcrowded one and any release is welcome one which makes it all the more gratifying that Top Sin 4 is an enjoyable and polished game that should appeal to most sports gamers. The game has an impressive roster of current and former stars of the sport including Novak Djokovic, Serena Williams, Caroline Wozniacki and Boris Becker.

There's an extensive career mode, multiplayer as well as an academy section for new players and gratifyingly the controls are easy enough to master. Despite the numerous big name venues, there's no Wimbledom (I suspect licensing issues were afoot) but the game, amusingly enough, does include a grass court Dublin Open.

The graphics aren't quite cutting edge (Rafael Nadal looks like a botox victim) but that's not to say Top Spin 4 doesn't look and sound authentic and the crowd responds perfectly to each match. When I managed to bore them they began to talk amongst themselves only for the umpire to order them to be quiet in French. Très Bon 2k.
