Although the reviews are still trickling in, it's safe to say that Breath of the Wild will be a huge success for Nintendo and help to buoy the launch of the Nintendo Switch.
Review aggregate Metacritic now has Breath Of The Wild as its fourth highest-rated game of all time, ahead of Grand Theft Auto IV, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 and - funnily enough - Legend of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time. Metacritic's scoring has it at 9.8 with a user rating of 7.8 based on 1,297 ratings so far. Again, that's some of the highest scores recorded by the site.
Breaking down the reviews even further, it's all pretty much universal praise. IGN, Polygon, GameSpot, Giant Bomb and Eurogamer have all given exceptionally positive reviews of 90% or higher. Both IGN and Polygon gave perfect scores to the game, with GameSpot calling it "a defining moment for The Legend of Zelda series, and the most impressive game Nintendo has ever delivered."
Breath Of The Wild was launched alongside the Nintendo Switch, and early word is that the Switch will ship 3,000,000 units before the end of March, but will be much less than the Wii U's launch month.
