Iconic horror director is avowed gaming fan

John Carpenter is a dab hand at many things; directing iconic films such as 'Halloween' and 'Big Trouble In Little China', writing and composing music, tweeting about the NBA, and playing video games.

John Carpenter's Twitter feed is often used to express fondness and support for films, and has told his 350,000+ strong follower base that he is a big fan of 'Halo Infinite'.

'Halo Infinite' is the newest entry in the 'Halo' franchise, and Carpenter has declared it as "the best of the Halo series'.

The horror icons love of gaming has been well-documented, with the director calling 'Assassin's Creed Valhalla' an "incredible game" and dubbing 'Horizon: Zero Dawn' "a stunning visual game with highly addictive gameplay."

Developers of 'Halo Infinite' expressed delight at gaining Carpenter's approval, with Bonnie Ross, founder and head of 343 Industries thanking him for "spending your creative time in our world".

Aaron Greenberg, head of marketing for Xbox said "it was an amazing tweet from a creative legend."

Carpenter hasn't made a film since 2011's 'The Ward' and when we asked him in 2016 if he had any upcoming projects the director replied "I have projects that I'm interested in doing - if they get set up with a reasonable budget with distribution, great. If it doesn't, great, I don't care!"

More recently, Carpenter has contributed music for the new 'Halloween' films directed by David Gordon Green and starring Jamie Lee Curtis.
