Another year and yet another Harry Potter movie. The fact is if you're a fan of the bespectacled wizard, the odds are you'll want to check out the latest game to cash in on JK Rowling's billion dollar franchise, whether its good or bad. However, unlike LEGO Harry Potter released earlier in the year, Harry's latest outing on the consoles is more the latter than the former.
The story itself mirrors that of the film and gameplay employs a rather convoluted mix of first and third person, neither of which work particularly well. Infuriatingly the camera has a tendency to go into awkward places at the most unwelcome times, and it all seems to symbolise a title that appears to have been released 'because it had to.'
Shooting is constrained to spells, potions and other Hogwartian things, but even obsessives will quickly find the cumbersome action a strain. Add to that side quests that add nothing other than to deter from the main story and what's left is something Potter fanatics will find unforgivably forgettable.
