Players can team up with friends to bust some ghosts, or even play as a ghost

Who you gonna call?

'Ghostbusters' is back in the spotlight after last year's 'Ghostbusters: Afterlife' and now fans can bust some ghosts with friends in the new video game 'Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed'.

The game comes to us from developer Illfonic, best-known for their takes on the 'Friday the 13th' and 'Predator' series, and the devs will be bringing their trademark multiplayer madness to the world of 'Ghostbusters'.

Players can team up with 3 other friends to bust some ghosts, and just like how 'Friday The 13th' lets players take on the role of Jason, players can become a ghost in 'Ghostbusters'.

Stars Ernie Hudson and Dan Aykroyd lend their likeness and voices to the game, with the developers telling Polygon they wanted to make a "family-friendly" game.

Cross-platform play is supported, and if players can't gather real friends matches are playable with bots.

Matches will last no longer than 10 minutes, and players will get the chance to upgrade their character in the iconic firehouse from the films.

The game is confirmed to be canon, with the game taking place after the events of 'Ghostbusters: Afterlife', and yes, players can cross the streams.

The trailer gave us a quick glimpse of what it's like to play as a ghost, and the beloved Slimer is confirmed to be playable in the game.

'Ghostbusters' has seen a wide range of video games, with the 2009 video game serving as a sequel to the films and containing the voice performances and likeness of the iconic cast, including Bill Murray.

No word as of yet if Bill Murray will show up in DLC.

'Ghostbusters: Spirit Unleashed' will be available later this year on a wide range of consoles from the PS4 and Xbox One to next-gen consoles.

No release date as of yet, but a 2022 release is on the table.
