Revival of cult 90's show will debut later this month on YouTube
90's gaming fans rejoice; 'Gamesmaster' is making a comeback.
The beloved Channel 4 show was a staple of 90's television, and while the late, great Patrick Moore is no longer with us, he has been replaced by someone with even more gravitas: Trevor McDonald.
The former ITV news host will fulfil the role as the titular role, whil, esport host Frankie Ward, Scottish comedian Robert Florence, and Instagram comedian Ty Logan will step into the host roles.
Per a press statement from Channel 4, celebrities will "undergo challenges, races and fights in virtual battle across all genres of gaming under the watchful eye of the all-knowing GamesMaster".
In a promo, clips from games such as 'Cuphead', 'Counter-Strike', 'Street Fighter', 'Mario Kart', and even a bit of VR were shown, as contestants take part in challenges to attain the 'golden joystick'.
The original iteration of 'Gamesmaster' ran from 1992 to 1998 and featured musical groups of the day such as All Saints, East 17, to 90's sports stars like Ian Wright, Ronnie O'Sullivan and Vinnie Jones.
The first episode of the revival will debut on E4's YouTube channel on November 21st.
