EyePet is the latest title to utilize the somewhat ignored camera add-on for the PlayStation 3. The objective is to raise a tiny monkey-like creature by feeding showering and generally looking after this "adorable" little thing as it ambles about your living room. Think of it as a twenty-first century Tomagotchi.
It looks convincing, even if, at times, the camera's response is inconsistent with your commands and can become unbearably frustrating.
However, once or twice, the game genuinely does amaze - for example, at one point I drew a picture, and sat back to see my unnamed beast recreate the same image, watch it turn into a 3D object and see him chase the object around the room like a thing possessed - the interaction is impressive.
Younger gamers will have a blast, but I'd question whether there is anything here for anyone over the age of ten.
