The Vodafone Comedy Festival 2011 will feature an impressive line-up of 65 international and Irish comedians who will feature at the four day event in the unique and stunning surroundings of Iveagh Gardens, in the heart of Dublin, from July 21st to July 24th. The festival is the largest and most successful open air comedy event of its type in Ireland with twenty thousand people expected to attend this year.
The international line-up for the Vodafone Comedy Festival features American cult heroes Tim & Eric, performing for the first time in Europe, multiple award winning actor and comedian Omid Djalili, Stephen K Amos and Never Mind The Buzzcocks' Phill Jupitus who will be appearing with The Stars of Whose Line is it Anyway?. The festival will also host two of the world's greatest one-liners - Milton Jones, the current Chortle UK Headliner of the Year, and deadpan Canadian Stewart Francis. Musical comedy acts include Reggie Watts, the beat-boxing marvel with the cloud of black hair, hip hop improv act Abandoman, comedy-folk duo Garfunkel and Oates from LA and UK rapper Doc Brown Humour has always been a vital aspect of Irish culture and the Vodafone Comedy Festival is excited to present a fantastic line up of new and established home-grown comedy talent, many of whom have received acclaim on the world stage, including Tommy Tiernan, Jason Byrne, Dead Cat Bounce, PJ Gallagher, Andrew Maxwell, Ardal O'Hanlon, David O'Doherty, Maeve Higgins, Neil Delamere, The Nualas, Dermot Whelan, David McSavage, Kevin McAleer to name just a few.
