The 2009 festival is the third festival and even bigger than 2007 and 2008. Bell X1 have confirmed to headline the Saturday night show allowing up to 2,000 visitors to enjoy and celebrate the Pumkin Festival which takes place on October Bank Holiday 2009 (23rd - 26th October).
An even bigger Friday night festival opening celebration ha been arranged, including Town Blackout, Parade with Artane Bandfeaturing GAA 125 Monumental Momentspageant. This is followed by live music on Virginia's Main Street.
A full packed programme is on offer for Saturday including Craft and Food Stalls,Car Treasure Hunt, Teddy Bears Picnic,Children's Disco, and Childrens Fancy Dress Party. At 9pm one of Ireland's most successful Irish bands, Bell X1, will take the stage in the massive marquee located on Virginia's showgrounds.
Sunday will continue with events such as artisan food stands, approximately 500 Honda 50 bikes will make their way from Virginia to Ballyjamesduff, and Pumpkin Weighing on the square. This is followed by a Street Carnival Parade and a Fantastic Fireworks display over Lough Ramor. The well known Fancy Dress Party will take place in the Marquee from 9pm promising a great night for 2,000 people.
To round up the festival Monday night offers the Farmer's Dancewith performers such as Declan Nerney, Philomena Begley, Larry Cunningham, and Brian Coll.
