The Toejam Carboot Sale started in January 2008 in the car park out the back of Dublin music promoters Bodytonic's bar in Portobello. Originally conceived as a way of using the great wee space they have out the back of the pub the event quickly took on a life of its own. It is a carboot sale in the traditional sense, with cars and boots and huge selection of odds and ends on sale. From vintage clothes to mountain bikes, jewellery to a Ford Fiesta with 30,000 miles on the clock, cupcakes to handmade stuffed Spanish horses - there's enough to keep you occupied with that, but with food stalls, DJs and the bar in full swing also, the day has become about alot more than just picking up a bargain X-box. The event starts at 1pm with stalls wrapping up when it gets dark and the party continuing til closing time in the Bernard Shaw. Admission is free all day
'The Book of Mormon' is returning to Dublin next year
