The Puffincat Club This August - Its Diet of Worms in comedy club form! Following the simply barnstorming come-back July show, the monthly Puffincat Club is gearing up for an even more exciting follow up this August. Five piece legends of daft surreality, Diet of Worms are your hosts once more and this month they boast the best line up of guest comedians and odd-ball sketch fun to be found this side of Edinburgh. It all goes down on Wednesday August 19th in Shebeen Chic, 4 George's Street, Dublin 2 at 8pm. Admission is a measly €5. Joining the Worms this month is Maeve Higgins (Naked Camera), Eric Lalor (Joy In The Hood), Bernard O'Shea (Touching People), Kevin Gildea (Father Ted) and Alan Bennett (Schnitzel). Its a line-up not to be sniffed at or missed. Your hosts for the evening are Diet of Worms. Philippa Dunne, Amy Stephenson, Rory Connolly, Niall Gaffney and Shane Langan, collectively known as Diet of Worms, are one of the most interesting and engaging young comedy acts in Ireland today. They have been regulars on the Irish and International comedy circuits for the last three years, taking three full-length shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with 2007's 'Diet of Worms on (Melted) Ice' being performed completely in a swimming pool. They have quickly gained a cult following with their off-centre live performances, their highly successful online Puffincat cartoon series and the broadcast of Dublin Stories on RTE2 last January.
