In celebration of its 80th anniversary, and the 25 years with Michael Colgan at the helm, the Gate Theatre will host a Gala Performance of 25 leading actors giving extracts from their roles in classic Gate productions. The evening will feature performances from some of the most respected stars of the theatre including Dawn Bradfield, Stephen Brennan, Ingrid Craigie, Risteárd Cooper, Niamh Cusack, Nick Dunning, Michael Gambon, Susan FitzGerald, John Kavanagh, David Kelly, Barry McGovern, Justine Mitchell, Owen Roe, Alan Stanford and Penelope Wilton. The Gate's 2008 season paid tribute to the company's extraordinary history, whilst also emphasising its renewed commitment to advancing theatre in Ireland. Building on its 80-year history, the Gate continues to attract new audiences and recently reached thousands of theatre fans across Ireland with the groundbreaking 32-county tour of its acclaimed production of Waiting For Godot by Samuel Beckett. Only 180 tickets have been made available to the public. Tickets cost €25 and can be purchased from the Gate Theatre Box Office or on-line on a first-come, first-served basis with a maximum of four per booking.
