Sven Vath is the epitome of the term "global player". One of electronic music's earliest champions, his career began in Frankfurt nightclubs in the early 80s, and has brought him to continued international acclaim over the last 3 decades. His own label/night club/clubbing brand, Cocoon, is one of dance music's most revered and recognisable - pioneering and underground, yet at the forefront of the mainstream. Svens long awaited return to Shine marks the tenth anniversary of Cocoons hugely successful residency at Amnesia in Ibiza, where he still headlines the majority of his bills, and continues to set the benchmark, not only for any club event, but for any DJ in the genre. Vath's own productions have been met with huge praise. Early albums like “Accident in Paradise” and “The Harlekin, The Robot, & The Ballet Dancer” are landmarks of contemporary electronic music. He continues to create forward thinking techno, while helping guide the careers of newer pioneers, ranging from Chilian superstar Ricardo Villalobos, to Belfast's very own Phil Kieran – a Cocoon artist himself. Sven Vath returns to Shine on Monday April 5th, Easter Monday, where he appears alongside Cassy, one of Cocoon's most exciting new DJs, and Miniminds, Belfast's hottest up and coming techno Djs / Producers.
