Everyone wants some live music
The tickets may have already sold out, but there's a waiting list you can join in case of Government restrictions changing in September.
People were waiting to see what the announcement was, and they weren't disappointed. Following their tease on Wednesday afternoon about something big being announced on Thursday morning, the queer Dublin organiser known as Mother released details of their Summer Block Party which is taking place this September.
Tickets for the event also went on sale this morning, but within two hours of their release at 9 am, the event is now sold out.
However, should the Irish Government make changes to restrictions in September, more tickets will become available. Interested attendees who missed out this morning's release can be added to the waiting list (here) and will be notified should more tickets be released.
Hosted by the Queen of Ireland, Miss Panti Bliss, the 'Mother Summer Block Party' will host over 40 performers. Denise Chaila, Elaine Mai and guests, 'Drag Race UK' star Blu Hydrangea and Mother DJs will be headlining the show.
Should more tickets become available, they will be sold in seated picnic benches pods of six. Full bars and food stalls will be available, and the party promises a collection of fabulous queens and live music for its big queer comeback party.
Taking place at Clarke Square at the National Museum of Ireland, the event will take place on Saturday, September 18 from 4 to 11 pm.
The current Government guidelines for organised outdoor events states: "A maximum of 200 attendees can attend the majority of venues. A limit of 500 people is in place for venues with a capacity greater than 5,000 with appropriate protective measures in place - including social distancing requirements."
