Kid Koala, otherwise known as Eric San, is making his way over to Dublin for a one-off show at The Villager on Sunday May 1st. His own headline show is well overdue. He supported DJ Shadow in Dublin 3 years ago and Four Tet over 4 years ago. Both times he made a huge impression. San proves that DJ'ing can be taken to the level of art-form. His mix of "Moon River" is legendary, along with his methods of using the turntable as a melodic instrument. He's also know for taking to the Mic and some of his shows are performed with cabaret style humor and general banter. In fact he supported his 2003 album "Some of my best friends are DJs" with a cabaret-style tour, which included 3 DJs, 8 Turntables, novelty acts and even a game of Bingo. Unfortunately we won't have the Bingo on the night but we may be in for a surprise or two. He's also a talented illustrator, having deigned all of his own album covers and has opened, as a DJ, for the likes of Radiohead and Bjork. All in all we're set for a great nights of entertainment and all for the recession friendly price of €12.50. Support on the night comes from Dublin's very own G Frequency.
