The 16th annual International Puppet Festival of Ireland returns to venues across South County Dublin from 16th - 21st September. This year, the festival focuses on the theme of 'tradition'. Puppet theatre has been performed across the world for centuries and the International Puppet Festival Ireland have decided to take a look at productions that are not only keeping that tradition alive today, but are also inspiring new work. This year's festival features ventriloquism, circus, cabaret and slapstick...something for all ages to enjoy. The Mill Theatre, Dundrum comes on board this year, joining the Lambert Puppet Theatre and Pavilion Theatre Dun Laoghaire for performances from this year's international guests. Tickets for events are available from the festival's official website, www.puppetfest.ie or 01 442 9010.
