Helium Music Festival is delighted to be able to confirm the full line up for our annual fundraiser taking place on Saturday, June 11th in aid of the Friedreichs Ataxia Society of Ireland.

This year’s Helium will again take place in its now traditional walled garden home of Skelly’s Bar in Ballymahon, Co Longford. With such a strong line up of performing artists, and a strong record of local support in the past, it's expected that even more money will be raised for the fantastic work done by the Friedreich's Ataxia Society of Ireland (FASI).

With The Coronas topping the bill, punters can also expect an array of local and international talent to perform over the day alongside big names like: KILA, singer songwriter Jamie Lawson, Ham Sandwich and Irish rhythm and roots five piece Tupelo.

The festival is mighty value this year - the laid back vibe, full BBQ, body art, fire poi and this year the addition of zorbing and whitewater tubing activities provided by the local Outdoor Discovery Adventure Centre (www.outdoordiscovery.ie) is providing even more of a draw to festival goers. Proceeds from these activities will also be donated to FASI.

Charity Awareness
Last year, a total figure of 10,000 euro was presented to the Friedreichs Ataxia Society of Ireland (FASI) and we’re hoping to hit that target again if not beat it by the end of this year’s gig. The festival has created a lot of awareness about FASI and the great work that they do and has spurred on more locals to get involved in fund raising in various ways. Indeed, there are 19 local women competing in the Flora Women's Mini Marathon on the June Bank Holiday Weekend who've also chosen FASI as their charity of choice so the knock on effect of past Helium events is already boosting awareness of the organisation.
