Forbidden Fruit gets another Irish act for the June Bank Holiday festival.

Upcoming Irish punk rock act Fontaines DC have been added to the line-up of this year's Forbidden Fruit Festival.

The five-piece are set to play on the Bank Holiday Monday, just as Swedish act First Aid Kit have announced that they are pulling all their festival appearances this summer.

In a statement released by the band, First Aid Kit confirmed the news, saying that "(we’re) devastated to have to cancel the planned summer dates this year. We were super excited to play, but because of unforeseen medical circumstances we simply cannot do the shows. All will be okay and we look forward to seeing you soon again."

Fontaines DC have been steadily building a profile for themselves since the release of their debut album, 'Dogrel'. With appearances on the likes of 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon', Fontaines DC are already booked to play the sold-out All Together Now festival this summer as well as Forbidden Fruit.

The Bulmers Forbidden Fruit Festival runs from June 1st to June 3rd at the Royal Hospital in Kilmainham, Dublin.
