It’s July! When the hell did that happen?! We are no officially one month into the summer and if you haven’t been to a festival already then you’d best check out our latest highlights and get planning before the summer passes you by. Here’s what’s coming up:
Galway Arts Festival: 25th - 28th July 2013
Galway Arts Festival is Ireland's largest international arts festival. The Festival showcases a wide variety of international artists alongside the best of Irish talent and includes music (popular, contemporary, jazz, world, classical and traditional), theatre (indoor and outdoor), visual arts, dance, talks, discussions, family events and comedy in its programme. Riverdance The Gathering: 20th - 21st July 2013
This July Riverdancers are in for a treat with a whole host of Riverdance events taking place from the 20th – 21st July. First up is the The Gathering Céilí in Dublin’s Merrion Square Park on the 20th July, kicking off at 3pm. That evening at 8pm Riverdance on Screen will take over with highlights on screen accompanied by a live Riverdance band. The 21st July will give you the chance to be a part of a world-record breaking Riverdance line led by non other than Jean butler. And then of course, Riverdance the show returns to Dublin’s Gaiety Theatre that night. Read more.
Achill Seafood Festival: 19th - 21st July 2013
Féile Bia na Mara is a culinary celebration of Achill Island's rich heritage with the sea, and it showcases the bountiful harvest of the Atlantic Ocean. It begins on Friday 19 July with complimentary oyster tasting in the local pubs and restaurants followed on Friday evening with the official opening with a celebrity guest of honour at the Gala Seafood Banquet. The Laya Healthcare Street Performance World Championship, Cork: 20th - 21st July 2013
Hold onto your socks and get ready for an action packed festival full to the brim with the weird, the wacky and the wonderful! With an attendance of 235,000 in 2012, the Laya Healthcare Street Performance World Championship is Ireland's second largest free family festival after St Patrick's Day. Read more.
Air Spectacular Bray: 21st July 2013
Tens of thousands of spectators are expected to gather along the East Coast this July for the country's largest free air show - the Air Spectacular as part of Bray Summerfest. In 2012, over 80,000 people enjoyed the event. Read more.
