5 days and nights of culture, music and entertainment.
This year Dublin's St. Patrick's Festival is even bigger and better than ever. There'll be a number of free events from a traditional Irish music gig in Temple Bar's Meeting House Square on the 14th March to a family friendly Treasure Hunt on the 18th March.
A new addition to this year's festival are the I Love my City Events. There is so much to see and do in Dublin year-round but at the time of the Festival there is always an extra buzz around the city with special events and happenings. In 2013 the Festival will have a very special programme of unique events in the beautiful surroundings of some of the city's prestigious cultural institutions, venues and spaces in the Georgian Quarter stretching from Merrion Square to Kildare Street. Check out the festival's website for more details on this special programme of events as it develops.
Another highlight of this year's festival is Céilí House Live in the National Concert Hall. This gala concert, presented by RTÉ Radio One's Céilí House Live host Kieran Hanrahan will feature the best of traditional music, song and dance.
And that's just a taster of events which will be creating a buzz in the city during this year's St. Patrick's Festival. You can look forward to funfairs, a 5km road race, walking tours and let's not forget the parade, which promises to be even bigger this year with The People's Parade inviting up to 8,000 people from around the world to participate.
