Drogheda will enjoy is first-ever ‘Fringe’ festival to compliment the town’s well-established Drogheda Arts Festival over the forthcoming bank holiday weekend. Comprising over forty events across multiple venues in town, there will be something for everyone to enjoy over the five-day arts extravaganza.
Music predominates the programme and an impressive line-up of acts and events will be headlined by renowned funksters Republic of Loose, who will play a late-nite gig in the town on Sat, May 1st. Twice Meteor-award winner John Spillane makes a welcome return to the North East on Sunday, May 2nd at 8.30 pm. John will be accompanied by fellow Leesider Ger Wolfe, for a one-off gig that simply cannot be missed by any serious music fan. Other notable gigs includes punk-poet troubadour Jinx Lennon and local contemporary singer- songwriter SJ McArdleThere are also film screenings, poetry events , photography as well as an extensive visual arts trail for Fest-goers to enjoy.
