It's the tenth anniversary of 'The First Festival of the Summer' and there's a super line-up to celebrate!
For the past ten years Drogheda has been the place to be over the May Bank Holiday as the first festival of the summer swings into action with an exciting mix of music, theatre, visual art, literature, film, family and outdoor fun for all ages. To celebrate this 10th anniversary year the extended 2014 festival is running over 7 days until 5 May.
Expect a very special 12 hour sleep concert - where guests are encouraged to sleep, a performance of the entire Bible in just two hours, a theatrical journey into the life and stories of a street in Drogheda and the inaugural Festival public interview with Deirdre O'Kane.
Of course that's not all - there will be free family fun a-plenty over the weekend on the streets of Drogheda and in the beautiful Beaulieu House, a rehearsed reading performed by Declan Conlon and directed by Annabelle Comyn, a performance of Russian composer Alexander Raskatov's monumental work for string quartet and bass voice AND film, visual art, literature...and more!
