The 10th Doonbeg International Jazz Festival will take place over the June Holiday Weekend (29th May - 1st June 2009) and will feature 10 top quality bands and musicians from Africa, Canada, England, Europe and Ireland in a weekend of nonstop music.With 26 performances and with a variety of music styles from Dixie to Jazz, Congolese Rhumba to Ska, and Swing to Latin, there is sure to be something to suit everybody. As part of the 10 years anniversary celebrations, The Doonbeg International Jazz Festival will be holding a free Jazz Workshop on Sat 30th and Sun 31st May 2009. The workshop hopes to attract beginners and young people, and also aims to make Jazz accessible to everyone. The workshop will allow people to explore a variety of instruments and enjoy working together on a jazz project.
