From Thursday 11th September to Tuesday 23rd September, the Solomon Gallery will be hosting its annual Collectibles exhibition of Important Irish and British painting and sculptures. This will be a momentous occasion as it will be the last show at the Solomon before Suzanne MacDougald and Tara Murphy close the doors of the South William Street premises to focus on their exciting new programme of events Solomon Fine Art at the Merrion Hotel. Collectibles is the culmination of twelve months collecting and buying by Suzanne MacDougald who had put together a superb collection for the Irish art connoisseur and collector. Having been in the business for over thirty years, Suzanne not only has a keen eye for finding the best painting and sculpture on the market, but also has a knack for spotting emerging young talent. The exhibition includes a varied selection of period, modern and contemporary paintings by artists as diverse as Sean Scully, Louis Le Brocquy, William Scott, John Shinnors, Bridget Riley CBE, Patrick Scott, Patrick O'Reilly and Comhghall Casey. The show also includes fine ceramics by Pablo Picasso and the London-based Irish artist Vivienne Foley. Collectibles is geared towards the Irish art investor, offering a blue chip collection of quality paintings and sculpture by artists of standing, experience and reputation.
