The Cahersiveen Festival of Music & the Arts has attracted visitors from all over the world. Every year brings new events and this year will be no exception!
The main attraction is the stage in the centre of the town where great free open air concerts take place on Friday Saturday and Sunday nights. Two bands perform each night with huge crowds attending each year. Throughout the weekend on the main streets, there will be entertainment for all the family from bar man's races to stilt walkers, oysters & Guinness and toddler's mini motor parade, fancy dress, terrier racing and much more.
The busking competition attracts musicians, singers, dancers & performers from all over Ireland all bidding for the title and of course the big prize money. There are two competitions - one for the juniors and one for the seniors. Open air set dancing with the local ceili band attracts visitors and locals alike to the stage.
Guided walks, sailing, kayaking and specialised talks take place in various locations as well as late night music sessions in the pubs. The younger kids will not be left out with a dedicated area in the fair green which has bouncy castles, labyrinths, puzzle paths and animal farms. Come along and treat your family to a fun filled weekend!
