Starring: Michael Keaton, Zach Galifianakis, Edward Norton, Andrea Riseborough, Amy Ryan, Emma Stone, Naomi Watts
Michael Keaton, in a role of a lifetime, plays Riggan Thomson, a washed-up celebrity, famous for his role as Birdman. In search of his glory days, he mounts a Broadway play with the help of his daughter Sam (Emma Stone), an actress and an idealistic producer. But Riggan is slowly losing his mind due to the pressure and a conflict with the protagonist of the play (Edward Norton). It's difficult not to see the reference to 'Batman', but Michael Keaton's performance is the highlight of the film. Visually impressive, thanks of the work of cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki (Gravity), the film is visually already one of the greatest films of the year. - Gent Film Festival 2014
