Deep Fried Funk's Christmas party takes place at St Columbs Hall this Saturday December 19th with special guest Andrew Weatherall playing a three hour house/techno set. There are few in the music world who can claim to have a better CV than Andrew Weatherall. Resident DJ at two of the first acid house clubs, Shoom and Spectrum, alongside Danny Rampling and Paul Oakenfold, many also credit him for starting the Madchester scene with his cutting edge production of bands like Happy Mondays, New Order, James and Primal Scream. At this stage, Weatherall was the most in-demand producer and DJ in the world. While others would have revelled in the euphoria and public acclaim, Andrew Weatherall shunned the limelight and publicity, distancing himself from the mainstream dance scene. Going back to his punk roots he subsequently recorded with Keith Tenniswood as the Two Lone Swordsmen, while maintaining his output through various alternatives projects. 2009 has been another amazing year for Mr Weatherall. His self-titled album, 'A Pox on The Pioneer's' and his production work with F**K Buttons were both massive critical successes. Add to this, a packed schedule of dates at the world's best clubs, it looks like Andrew Weatherall will stay at the top for some time to come. Support comes from Deep Fried Funk DJs. Visuals by F12. Doors: 10pm - late. Adm: £8 b4 10.30pm. A limited number of advance tickets are on sale online at wegottickets.com.
