"Annoying Voices for five hundred!"

Laura Ashby, a contestant on Jeopardy in the US, has been getting a lot of attention during her run this week thanks to her "unusual" accent and inflection at the end of her sentences. What do they mean exactly? This.

To us it really just sounds like anyone from California, who, you know, always end their sentences like a question? But apparently the rest of the internet is unimpressed.

Although the jokes on them, as Ashby was the reigning Jeopardy champ for almost three weeks, taking home over $40,000 in cash. And she's had a pretty good reaction to the whole thing.
