This really is one of those things that we wish America had kept to itself.

It's not even sunrise in the US yet, and Black Friday has already claimed its first victims on this side of the Atlantic as British retailers jump on the American bandwagon and offer massive reductions on items post-Thanksgiving and in the run up to Christmas.

This is the madness that broke out across the UK in the early hours of this morning as bargain-hungry shoppers sought out cut-price TVs, games consoles, coffee machines and more, with police being called to a number of supermarkets around the country as giant crowds overwhelmed stores and fights broke out, leading to police shutting down Black Friday many of the openings.

Two were arrested in Manchester after scuffles broke out over discounted TVs, with police in Greater Manchester urging for calm via Twitter.

Consumerism is great isn't it?
