It started just under two weeks ago and became a viral hit.

Now, the owners of Ship Your Enemies Glitter has only gone and sold the site for a mind-boggling $85,000 to an unnamed buyer.

22-year old Mat Carpenter set the site up as "a bit of a joke" and received over $20,000 worth of orders in the first week.

In fact, it got so bad that he quickly closed down the site and refused orders as he wasn't able to cope with the sheer demand.

The site was put up for sale on Flipa, an eBay-style website that specialises in selling on entrepreneurial businesses.

The buyer is understood to be legitimate, having spent $83,000 on a previous sale.

As for Mat's idea, it might not be as ingenious anymore. A number of copycats sites have sprung in the interim and appear to be doing a roaring trade.

$85,000 for two weeks work. Not bad, man.
