Up until now, this whole new delayed winter climate that we were experiencing was relatively normal. Yes we had terrible floods and some snow issues over the last few years, but nothing that we weren't familiar with. But tornadoes? No thank you. A world of no.

Various media outlets and people are reporting that as the latest Atlantic storm batters the country, Roscommon has seen a tornado land causing significant damage as 15,000 homes are left without electricity.

Met Éireann have also issued a Red Alert (their highest warning level) for Cork and Kerry, with winds gusting up to 160 km/h and very rough high seas. The rest of us are under a blanket Orange and Yellow Alert with high winds and dangerous gusts expected to last up until late night tonight. And while things will calm down a bit tomorrow, the weekend looks to get just as bad again as "another deep depression / storm is expected to track towards us".

Basically just take the rest of the month off. Spring is cancelled.
