And it's still raining lads, probably because Storm Gertrude is due to hit tomorrow...

We travelled down to Cork to see the rellies for New Years, and have upper arms of steel thanks to wrestling the Micra against Storm Frank's winds across the main Cork to Dublin Road. Mile after mile on our way to Mitchelstown we saw flooded fields and engorged rivers, but nothing compared to the pictures doing the rounds of nearby Mallow.

But first, to some other photos from the surrounding areas...

Of course, nothing could prepare you for this trip to the bus stop in Mallow. Yep, that's the top of a bus stop.

Needless to say, this is a 'no parking' zone...

With temperatures of -2 set to descend tonight, Storm Gertrude on its way, and approximately 1,000 homes still without power, stay safe this New Years Eve no matter where you are. And have some candles and dry matches to hand. And a canoe, if you have one.
