My, what a big Doodle you have Google
Google have a long history of marking anniversaries and special occasions with quirky doodles on their homepage, and today is no different with the 200th anniversary of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales. In their longest interactive doodle to date, we're treated to Google's quirky take on Little Red Riding Hood to mark the anniversary of the sibling authors of Children's and Household Tales (or Kinder und Hausmärchen as it was in their native German). First published way back in 1812, the two brothers collected some of Europe's most popular fairy tales that are probably more familiar today thanks to Disney, including Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Rapunzel, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and many more. By the time they finished their last book, the Grimms had amassed a whopping 211 stories, including some weirder ones like The Girl With No Hands and The Devil With the Three Golden Hairs, but Google's take on Little Red is much kinder to the wolf. Instead of getting split open and filled with stones, the Lumberjack simply tugs out ole Granny and Red and bops the Wolf on the noggin before chucking him in jail and saving the day. Probably just being careful not to annoy any animal rights groups.
