A new trend, known as logging, has sparked a wave of diahorrea, fever and fatigue in resorts in Spain, Dominican Republic and Egypt.
Simply put, it involves taking a dump in a public pool and quickly exiting - leaving said poo in the pool for other people to find.
Law firm Simpson Millar has said that they've received a number of cases in the past few weeks where holidaymakers have become seriously ill due to the nasty prank.
"Some of them and their families have been very ill with diarrhoea and sickness and in some instances put on drips."
"The numbers contacting us for advice is increasing which is quite worrying, just before the main holiday season starts," explained solicitor Nick Harris of Simpson Millar.
One particular resort in Egypt that's popular with British tourists, known as Sharm El-Sheikh, had an incident of logging which caused a holidaymaker to suffer diahorrea.
First Choice / Thomson, which organised the trip, paid out a sum of £2,000 to settle the case quickly.
"They have told us the holiday reps are now recording their frequency. This behaviour is disgusting. By taking part in this abhorrent craze they are exposing innocent holidaymakers to a whole host of potential illness including cryptosporidium and e-coli."
It's understood the trend is linked to The Inbetweeners 2, a British comedy film based on the popular Channel 4 series.
In one scene, one of the Inbetweeners gets a dose of diarrohea as he's about to jump in a waterslide. The poo falls down the sldie and goes into the main pool, which is quickly evacuated.
So that's where we're at now. People are taking cues from The Inbetweeners.
