Evolution win: Georgia voters protest in style
When one of your government representatives literally believes that the Earth is 9,000 years old and has called evolution and the Big Bang Theory (the actual scientific theory, not that awful TV show) "lies straight from the pit of hell", there's a certain level of protest that is probably called for. Now you'd think the people of Georgia, USA would just up and vote someone else into replace the clearly batshit politician in question, Paul C. Broun (Republican, of course), but seeing as he ran unopposed, pro-science opposition chose a more tongue in cheek way of serving it to the House Rep.
Over 4,000 voters opted to use their write-in option on their ballot and penciled in the name of deceased ground-breaking evolutionist Charles Darwin, making up nearly 20% of all votes. Maybe when one fifth of your electorate are willing to elect a zombie in place of you, you should rethink your stance/position. Did I mention that Broun sits on the House of Representatives Science Committee? Thankfully we still have Obama around to keep things sane.
