Dolphin Stampede off California coast
Okay, it's not quite that scene from The Lion King, but it's impressive and somewhat terrifying. Passengers enjoying a casual Whale Safari off the coast of Dana Point, California, were surprised to be overtaken by a hoard of dolphins 'stampeding' , over 1,000 of them apparently. With an estimated population of about 10,000 dolphins in the area, this isn't surprising to imagine, but it's still mad to see. All we can think about is that Simpsons Treehouse of Terror episode.
Who knew dolphins could even stampede? What next, dolphin assassins? Actually, yes.
