Today and Tomorrow's forecast
Friday 10 February
Staying cloudy and misty this evening with further outbreaks of rain and drizzle mainly in the north and the east of the country.
Tonight:
The misty and cloudy weather will continue tonight with yet more rain and drizzle, which will be persistent in the eastern half of the country. There will be a lot of hill and coastal fog too with just light variable winds. Temperatures will fall to between 3 and 8 degrees.
Saturday 11 February
Friday will be another misty and cloudy day with only a few brief bright spells. There will be more rain and drizzle, which will be persistent and heavy at times. Highest temperatures will range from 7 to 11 degrees in light to moderate southerly winds.
Outlook:
Friday night will see further outbreaks of rain across parts of the north and west but most other areas will be dry. The skies will be clearer further south and temperatures there will fall to between 3 and 5 degrees. It'll be a little milder further north. Winds will fall further too and will be almost calm overnight.
Saturday will see further patchy rain, drizzle and perhaps some mist in another rather cloudy day. Temperatures will be around normal for the time of year and winds will be again mainly light southerly. It will become clearer overnight with the possibility of a frost forming as skies begin to clear in places.
It looks like the weather will become clearer and drier from Sunday on as high pressure builds over Ireland. Some sunshine can be expected on Sunday during the day but clearer skies overnight might make it a cold and frosty night.
The indications for Monday and the early days of next week are for winds to turn to the northwest and increase and it will feel cold although there should be some good spells of sunshine as high pressure persists.
