Tonight:
This evening and tonight will be generally cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. The rain will be persistent and heavy in parts of Connacht and Ulster for time. The best of any dry spells will be in Munster. Lowest temperatures of 2 or 3 degrees in eastern and northeastern areas and between 4 and 7 degrees elsewhere.

Becoming milder tomorrow and staying mostly cloudy with patchy rain and drizzle in places, especially over the northern half of the country. Dry spells developing also, the best of these further south. Highest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees with moderate south to southwest breezes.

Outlook:
It will remain relatively mild overall for the rest of the week but there will be rain at times mainly in western and northern areas.
Cloudy and mostly frost free on Thursday night. Persistent rain through northern counties but more scattered elsewhere. After a mostly dry start in the south on east on Friday morning, rain will spread to most areas during the day. Mild with mostly south to southwest breezes and top temperatures of 8 to 10 degrees C..
Further outbreaks of rain will affect many areas at times on Friday night and early Saturday but the rain will die away slowly during Saturday.
Calm and clearer conditions will set in on Saturday night with fog and frost developing and risk of icy patches. Frost and fog clearing gradually on Sunday morning to give a dry, cool, bright day. Indications suggest colder weather developing for the early days of next week with freshening northwest to north breezes setting in, bringing some showers, mostly to western and northern areas with mainly dry, cold conditions elsewhere. Frosts more likely by night.
