Well worth seeing - Frances BlackburnThis is one movie that will grab your interest from beginning to end. Perhaps because it is based on a true case history, the ending doesn't satisfy the need that the rest of the film has built up in the viewer, so that one goes away feeling a little uneasy that the case was not resolved to ones satisfaction. However, that said, it is a more ...
Don't think I'll be allowed to choose a movie for a LONG time... - DebIt's 12:30am and we are just back from Cineworld where we ENDURED over two hours of what is probably one of the worst movies we have seen in ages. Boring doesn't even begin to describe it. Personally I found several of the characters not only to be irritating, but the dialogue to be stilted and the over exaggeration of the fact the movie is set in the 70's! more ...
Shouls not be missed - RoryA great film that anyone above 16 would enjoy. Lots of suspense and the audience wont fall asleep if they have been awake for the last 72 hours. Almost unmissable and the only fault is the ending - or lack of it. more ...
Brilliant! - EilisHave to say this film was very exciting! Unfortunately I left with a numb bum!!! I think people may enjoy this better on their own sofa. Or maybe it was just the uncomfortable seats at the cinema I was at. Its well worth seeing and at one stage I was actually frigtened! more ...
Excellemt, go see! - Colm Mc GlincheyThere was a time a few years ago when director David Fincher was the next big thing. He wooed us with Se7en, wowed us with Fight Club, but then, quite unpredictably, left us all confused by the pointless shambles that was Panic Room. Style over substance indeed, so was this proof of a director who purposedly chose scripts in which he could show off his more ...
No Oscars but a good movie nonetheless - HermannIt is quite hard to put a finger on what would be exactly great or terrible about this movie. It got lost somewhere in between. I think the main issues I would have with it is it was far too long. The storyline seemed to drag on and I know personally that I did start losing interest about 3/4 of the way through. There were areas of the movie more ...
Not a fan of Fincher, but I've been converted! :D - Ladel87When I read all of the bad reviews on this site, I was initially put off watching it. Though I was still very curious to see what everyone was complaining about. I have just this minute gotten back from watching it, and I'm still wondering! I thought the script was witty and intellegent. There was no point at which I was bored. Someone who reviewed this more ...
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzodiac -I was on planet Zodiac watching this rubbish trying to keep awake. Really disappointed with this film, lacked everything, nearly 3 hours long, going nowhere for about the first hour (thats if you manage to keep matchsticks in your eyes to keep awake!). Jake Gyllenhaal is a good actor but bored me to tears as a cartoonist/part-time detective in this flick more ...
So-So-diac - PandabatDespite directing all manner of films, from the underrated "Alien 3", to the rather-quite-good "Fight Club" & "The Game", to the not-so-good "Panic Room", David Fincher will always be measured against his supreme achievement to date, which is of course "Se7en". Hype surrounding this release of his, which more ...
If you can't sleep, then see this movie, you be asleep in minutes! - JimI've been trying to think of a way to describe this movie, I use the term movie very loosely. I can't put a name to this movie that wouldn't be blocked by the site. This movie is trouble, it does start out well, you think yes this is going to great. After that it turns into a long boring series of scenes put together. The more ...
The most intelligent thriller of the year... - Pete BoyleFirst off, if you're expecting an out-and-out thriller from Zodiac you may be disappointed. There is no car chase, no gratuitous gore, no neatly wrapped-up ending. This is a brave effort from director David Fincher and he delivers the most engrossing investigative film since All The President's Men. Zodiac concerns the eponymous serial killer who terrorised more ...
somewhat of a 'must see' - berniceThis is an emotional and very compelling film, which is undoubtedly worth a watch, could wait to rent on dvd. the cast is amazing, possibly could create a stronger sense of emotion and reality if pushed far enough. i never knew about the 'zodiac' killer in san fran until i went to see this, so another plus for me (educational). yess,,,, go and see this or more ...
I fell asleep - Siobhan L.The cast for this movie is outstanding but the script could have benefited from serious editing in the middle. You have the murders, the chase, the chase, the chase, and just when you think you're there - the text telling you what happened in the end. The best thing in this is Robert Downey (who plays a chain smoking alcoholic) and so little research was more ...
Starts good dies long and slow - KilianAt the beginning the movie promised to be exciting, however the story began to go nowhere about half way through. Full of one liner jokes, a Columbo want to be and clever journalist stuff. One of the cop partnership simply drops out at one point for no apparent reason. I know that this is based on a true story, but they could have been a bit more more ...
A highlight of the year - Old_No7A truly compelling drama based on the true case files of the Zodiac killer, principally set in the 70s in San Francisco. With impeccable acting, sharp and engrossing dialogue, this film is a sheer delight to watch. At a running time of 2hours 40 minutes the film grabs your attention from the outset and doesn't let go. It really is such a joy to watch a more ...
In All the Stars - Mark WAfter the somewhat misfiring Panic Room, there were some reservations about this latest work from David Fincher. We needn't have worried however, Fincher has definitely returned to form with this assured treatment of the familiar whodunit format. James Vanderbilt's script, which plays out like a cross between The Silence of the Lambs and All The more ...
Zodiac - BudAs a fan of Finchers work i was looking forward to this movie, based from 1960's to the early1990's, the film is about a series of killings that scare San Francisco during the '70s, and specifically on the book written about them by Robert Graysmith. Played by Jake Gyllenhaal, Graysmith was a San Francisco Chronicle cartoonist whose more ...
Enjoyable - well worth a look - FionaAt over 2 and a half hours I didn't find myself looking at my watch once - there aren't a lot of movies of this length you can say this about. It will have you glued to your seat to find out what happens next. Its interesting to look at a crime drama set in late 60s early 70s and have no computers and no DNA, these boys didn't even have a fax! The more ...
Simply PINS you to your seat - CarolineThis film simply pins you to seat. It is something unique and interesting. Zodiac is science-fiction thriller which is also dramatic and emotional. It deals with partly different era and it is very intriguing. It is not bloody thrilled that most our time film makers do. As a crime saga, newspaper drama, and period piece, it works just fine. As an allegory more ...
