Viewer Reviews of COLDPLAY - VIVA LA VIDA OR DEATH AND ALL HIS FRIENDS
A - madassThough I really liked parachutes when it came out I always thought that coldplay's successive albums got worse and worse, ironicly the bigger the band got! So, I've never been a big fan and always thought that they were over-rated. However, with viva la vida my faith has been restored. It's one of the few albums released recently that's a great play-through more ...
Change is good - EdCompletely different to last three albums but five or six tracks could easily be released as singles very enjoyable to listen to, one of their best to date. more ...
Definately a few songs worth listening to - ftkeenanI loved Violet Hill when it came out as a single - reminded me of Genesis. Then out came the second single Viva La Vida and I really liked that one too - so I bought the album. I always listen to an album a number of times before I have an opinion as some just grow on you but I have to say that, while pleasant the majority of this album just did not hook me more ...
something a bit different - AmandaColdplay has turned in another solid effort with its 4th studio album, titled "Viva La Vida" but they expand their boundaries this time. Gone is the predictability of tightly-wound, highly catchy 4 minute arena pop/rock anthems marching in succession, not to mention the sensitive male singer/songwriter clichés and often dial-by-numbers more ...
Best Album I've Purchased this year!! - alanpcareyThis album is another great addition to your Coldplay collection, Totally different and a great lead up to what should be the Best Gig of the Year in the New O2!! I've got my tickets anyway, cannot wait. more ...
Best album of the year. - simonconnollyI have loved Coldplay right from the start. In 2000 they released 'parachutes', a brilliant album filled with some of their most famous songs such as Yellow, Sparks and Trouble and this made Coldplay a household name. Once hearing these songs I immediately bought the album. Then they released 'A rush of blood to the head' and I was hooked. It was even more ...
Fantastic - Damoc19I absolutely LOVE this album! I feel that of all Coldplay's albums this is actually the most varied - and that's a good thing. The different styles and beats add up to a great listen - and there's something about its mix of melancholy and joy that makes me contemplate death as well as life (which might be the whole point of the album judging by the title). more ...
EXCELLENT - LisaPersonally, I love the new album. Some people find Coldplay depressing but I think this album has been cleverly mastered to reflect how your feeling when you are listening to it! It always chills me out and puts me in a good mood! Love it! :) more ...
Pleasantly Surprised! - HSPAs a person who loved Coldplay's first album Parachutes & expected more great things from them, I never really liked anything they did after that. I found myself changing radio stations in the car if Chris Martins annoying tones were invading my space & how they have become as big as they have actually mystifies me. I know it's all about taste & more ...
Worth a look - MelanieI was quite impressed with Coldplays new album, I think the singles are probably the best songs on it which is a pity, but the others grow on you as well. I think we have to remember that less vocals DOES NOT mean bad music!!! more ...
Very different to their old stuff... - EmmaGood or bad? I personally preferred their old stuff. Their songs on this album have more instruments playing than voice singing. I'm gonna miss Chris Martin's voice. It seems to have faded into the background on this album. Very instrumental songs. Not many vocals like there used to be. more ...
meh - itsstillallanarchyiinnitYellow Pack U2 , with a sprinkling of faux Radiohead ... more ...
Coldplay catching U2 - ciaran flynnI would have to disagree with the main reviewer here and say this is an excellent album, a creative leap forward from the the previous 3 albums and full of radio friendly tracks. And so what if its a bit dark in content, isnt that what Coldplay are all about anyway, they were never going to be a cheerie pop band, Radiohead never get criticised for producing more ...
