| Definately a few songs worth listening to - ftkeenanI loved Violet Hill when it came out as a single - reminded me of Genesis. Then out came the second single Viva La Vida and I really liked that one too - so I bought the album. The different styles and beats add up to a great listen - and there's something about its mix of melancholy and joy that makes me contemplate death as well as life (which might be the whole point of the album judging by the title). more ... |

I found myself changing radio stations in the car if Chris Martins annoying tones were invading my space & how they have become as big as they have actually mystifies me. | Very different to their old stuff... - EmmaGood or bad? I personally preferred their old stuff. Their songs on this album have more instruments playing than voice singing.  | Coldplay catching U2 - ciaran flynnI would have to disagree with the main reviewer here and say this is an excellent album, a creative leap forward from the the previous 3 albums and full of radio friendly tracks. And so what if its a bit dark in content, isnt that what Coldplay are all about anyway, they were never going to be a cheerie pop band, Radiohead never get criticised for producing more ... |
