Did you ever want to be one of The Avengers? How about the X-Men? Or one of the Fantastic Four? Or Spiderman? Well, now you can! Lego Marvel Super Heroes opens up pretty much the ENTIRE Marvel roster for you to play with, not to mention all of the Super Villains for you to fight off against. While it's not an exhaustive list, there are literally HUNDREDS of characters for you to get to grips with, and that alone will make this a must-have for any fans of the superheroes universe. Which, judging from the box office of recent Marvel movies, should be just about everyone.

The story is a sprawling affair, with Doctor Doom, Loki, Doctor Octopus and others teaming up to find magic cubes, and all of the superheroes teaming up to stop them. Each level will have you controlling two or three characters, and you'll need to switch between them to solve some platforming puzzles before moving on to the next area. Strong characters can knock down walls, others can sneak past security cameras, others can burn or freeze background items… and it'll be up to you to figure out which hero is needed in which situation.

The presentation of the universe is fantastic, with all of the characters perfectly realised in the Lego astethic, as well as being brought to life perfectly by the voice acting (Clark Gregg, who plays Agent Coulson, actually provides the voice to the character here, too!). You'll get to run around Manhattan and the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, and pretty much get completely lost in the Marvel universe for around 12 hours.

If some of the controls are a little finicky, and some of the puzzles are a little too basic, and some of the levels can be hard to read because the important, interactive stuff looks EXACTLY the same as the other, non-moving stuff, all of that is pretty much forgiven by virtue of the fact that this game is just so damned fun to play.

Perfect for the kids, as well as any comic-book loving grown-up.
