So enthused was Susan at getting her own one-off TV show, that she engaged in some unique behaviour during the filming.
Digital Spy reports: "The Scottish singer did an unplanned disco dance (brilliant) as she sang the ballad Who I Was Born To Be during filming for the 60-minute show. It has been alleged that Boyle went on to do the same thing again after being asked to stay still for a second take. A source said: 'It was odd and very out of character with the song. Susan looked like she was doing it as a break from the seriousness and the pressure of having to sing throughout a show. It's going to give us a bit of a headache so we will edit around it'."
WHY on earth would you want to do that?! That's TV gold, right there, why would you even consider editing it? That's half the reason Boyle is something like a phenomenon *dances*, she's true to her whims. Would she have been nearly as successful had she not tottered on to the BGT stage and busted out a horrifying hip shimmy in the direction of Piers Morgan? That's what sells Susan - the element of surprise.
Anyway, these stuffy sorts should count themselves lucky she didn't launch herself at Elaine Paige when they performed together recently. Imagine, Susan losing the run of herself, throwing a limb over Paige and doing a breakneck rumba, while bellowing a bar of I Know Him So Well.
Class.
