The Bourne Ultimatum and Green Zone director Paul Greengrass is in talks to direct a 3D remake of Fantastic Voyage for James Cameron's company Lightstorm Entertainment and 20th Century Fox, according to Variety.

After very few films, Greengrass is widely considered one of the best helmers currently working within the Hollywood studio system, but his handheld shooting style would seem to be at odds with proposed 3D format. The original 1966 sci-fi classic followed a group of scientists who were miniaturized and inserted into another man's bloodstream to save a life. So, completely outside of his comfort zone then.

James Cameron will produce the film, while the United 93 directors involvement is to still be finalised, it will surely attract some stellar A-list talent.
