Irish Director Gary McKendry is to make is feature debut with the action film, The Killer Elite, which will star Jason Statham and Clive Owen.
According to Variety, Statham will play a former naval seal, now heading up a gang of assassins called The Elite. That bunch of wrong sorts will be hunting Owen's ex-SAS man and some of his mates. It's based on the novel, The Feather Men. McKendry previously directed an Oscar nominated short in 2005 called Everything in this Country Must.
The SAS versus Navy Seals? I have a feeling this film will start a barrage of macho bar arguments either side of the Atlantic Ocean. Either way, I like the set-up.
